Verdi New Zealand Ltd (“Verdi”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals whose personal information we collect, hold, use and disclose in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 (the “Act”). This policy sets out how we handle your personal information when you interact with our website, services and soil carbon monitoring programmes.

We may update this policy from time to time by uploading a revised version to our website. Any changes take effect from the date of publication.

We collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our business activities, including:

  • Identity & contact details: name, postal and email address, telephone number;
  • Farm and property details: farm name, address, land-use history;
  • Payment information: invoicing details and GST numbers;
  • Account and login data: username, password and user preferences;
  • Communications: feedback, enquiries, support requests; and
  • Marketing consents: newsletter subscriptions.

    • complete a contact or soil-sampling form;

  • verify your identity and eligibility for soil carbon programmes;
  • deliver and manage our services (e.g. soil monitoring, MRV reporting, certificate issuance);
  • process invoices, payments and GST;

  • send you updates, marketing information and newsletters (where you have consented);
  • improve our website, services and user experience;
  • comply with legal obligations under the Act or other legislation; and
  • protect our legal rights and interests.

 
5. WITH WHOM WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION

  • Related entities within the Verdi group for administrative purposes;
  • Service providers (e.g. cloud-hosting, data storage, IT support), including those outside New Zealand;
  • Verification partners for MRV certification;
  • Regulatory or government bodies as required by law;
  • Professional advisers (e.g. legal, accounting) when necessary; and
  • Potential acquirers, in the event of a business sale or reorganisation.

Where we transfer information offshore, we ensure comparable privacy protections are in place or obtain your consent, in line with the Act .

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information from loss, misuse, unauthorised access or disclosure.


7. ACCESSING AND CORRECTING YOUR INFORMATION

You have the right to request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you, subject to permitted exceptions under the Act. To make a request, please email us (see section 9). We may charge a reasonable fee to cover our costs in providing access or making corrections.


8. INTERNET USE & COOKIES
  • Security: While we use secure connections, transmission of information over the internet cannot be guaranteed entirely secure.
  • Cookies: We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve site functionality and user experience. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect site performance.
